Trans East Airlines Flight Attendant Wing
Bangor, Maine 1967-1968

Trans East Airlines was formed in 1963 as Statewide Airlines. In 1967 they name changed to Trans East Airlines and flew DHC-6, the Twin Otter as well as maintaining their fixed base operation (FBO). The airline flew mostly between New York and Bangor with intermediate stops. They were the fixed-base operator (FBO) at Bangor International Airport in Bangor, Maine, beginning in 1968. In 1969 the airline name changed to Trans East International Airlines but they shut down in 1972 as they owners decided to focus on their FBO operation. An interesting side light is that because the Twin Otter had such little headroom, the Flight Attendants hired were no more than 5 feet tall.
